4-k

During the pre-kindergarten year, much time will be spent in exploring and learning about printing, listening and speaking, reading, science, math, fine and large motor skills. 4-year-old kindergarten (4K) is designed to help children learn at their own levels and become prepared for kindergarten in a fun, hands-on approach to learning. The 4K program at Encompass will provide growth, development, and reinforcement of these behaviors.

In a 4K classroom, you will find

  • 4K DPI licensed teachers.
  • kindergarten readiness curriculum that aligns  with the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards.
  • environments filled with activities designed to promote all areas of learning: math, science, literacy, art, small and gross motor development.
  • activities that develop each child's ability to make choices and encourage decision-making skills.
  • programming that promotes development of social skills, including opportunities to interact with peers.
  • curriculum that enables children to pursue their own interests and to work at their own pace and ability.
