NAEYC Accreditation:   The Right Choice for Kids                                                                  NAEYC Torch

NAEYC Accreditation of programs for young children represents the mark of quality in early childhood education.  NAEYC Accreditation began in 1985 with the goal of providing an accrediting system that would raise the level of early childhood programs.  NAEYC awards accreditation only to high quality early childhood programs that have demonstrated compliance on meeting these high standards.

Encompass Early Education and Care believes achieving Accreditation is an investment in early childhood education which benefits children and families.  Early childhood experiences - from birth to age 8 - have an enormous impact on children's lifelong learning.  This will also have a positive contribution to their health and development and is an advantage for a greater readiness and success in school.

NAEYC Accredited programs must

  • promote positive relationships for all children.
  • implement curriculum that fosters all areas of children's development.
  • use developmentally, culturally and linguistically appropriate and effective teaching approaches.
  • provide ongoing assessments of children's learning and development.
  • promote nutrition and health of children as well as provide a safe and healthy physical environment.
  • employ and support teaching staff's educational qualifications and their professional commitment.
  • use resources from the community to support the program's goals.
  • maintain collaborative relationships with each child's family.

Encompass believes NAEYC Accreditation is The Right Choice for Kids.
